In 1991, after six years of success publishing comic book reprints, including the EC Horror Comics, Gladstone Publishing took the bold plunge into the original comics market with three horror omnibus magazines: Grave Tales, Maggots and Dread of Night. The run included 8 bimonthly magazines of 48 pages each - with full color painted covers and black and white interiors. Madraven, the Mistress of Castle Stark, debuted in the first issue of Maggots, and starred in the two comic-size seasonal suspense specials.
Filled with fabulous fright fables written by the likes of Jack C Harris, Bell Pearson, Steve Skeates and Nicola Cuti, and drawn by suck luminaries as Joe Staton, Gray Morrow, Steve Stiles and Val Mayerik, all ten of these 'horrible' gems are available only as a complete set - $55.00
