The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa |
||||||
Of the entire body of Don Rosa's work, his twelve-part epic, The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, serialized in Uncle Scrooge #285-296, has been lauded with the highest praise. Now all 220 pages of this Eisner Award-winning narrative have been collected into one 8 ½” x11" hardbound run of 1000 hand-numbered collector books, each boldly autographed by Rosa. (There were also a small number of unnumbered Publisher's Proofs.) The book is case bound in handsome black leatherette with gold foil stamping. Other options: an original ink sketch of Scrooge in a variety of levels of detail (see list); or a full-color signed print of young Scrooge and Glittering Goldie. The 8"x10 ½” print, "Hearts of the Yukon," features Rosa's art that illustrated the cover of Walt Disney Giant #1; it is signed by both Rosa and Susan Daigle-Leach, the colorist whose artistic skills complemented the overall look and appeal of Life and Times. The image is the full art as drawn by Rosa, not the version that was severely trimmed for the comic book cover. The scene takes place after part eight of Life and Times.
